MW3 Campaign Locations Revealed
May 18, 2011 Modern Warfare 3 Campaign
Infinity Ward is usually pretty good about keeping details about their Call of Duty games under wraps, but that has failed them with Modern Warfare 3. Before the game has even been officially announced, tons of details have leaked out. Chief among those details are campaign info, and in particular where the campaign will take place.
MW3 will pick up the story from MW2, with the U.S. still in a shaky situation with Russia. The missions will be similar, though we’re headed to quite a few different cities. Reports are that the game will span 15 cities like New York, London, and Paris. But it won’t just be the big parts of the city, but also smaller areas like the Bronx, Brooklyn, etc. It will be interesting to see a game take on these smaller less recognizable areas away from the major landmarks, though Modern Warfare 3 will undoubtedly have some big set-pieces around those landmarks. I’d imagine we’ll be seeing plenty of the Eiffel Tower, Statue of Liberty, London Parliament, etc, and they’ll all likely be in ruins of some sort.
I’m sure Infinity Ward (and Sledgehammer Games, Raven Software, etc) will provide us with plenty of great MW3 perks to use in their new playground, so stay tuned for info on those as they become available!
