MW3 Strike Packages and Death Streaks

The concept of Killstreaks is being replaced by Strike Packages in Modern Warfare 3. Strike Packages differ from Killstreaks in that they allow you to earn different classes of killstreaks based on the way you want to play the game. If you want to be a support player then there is the support tier of Killstreaks, which will allow you to provide basic support killstreaks while being able to rack up your kill count without deaths breaking it. That means that if you get 2 kills, die, and then get another 2 kills, you will unlock the 4 kill support tier Strike Package. Deaths do not reset your kill count.
If you think you’re uber 1337 and want the more personally rewarding killstreaks then you can pick the Assault Tier or Specialist Tier Strike Packages. Both of these work the same way they did in previous Call of Duty games, where your streak is reset when you die.
